I have a Compass Judge 2 detector that I got back in 1976. It has been in the closet for a long time. I loaned it to my grandson and it didn't work. I found a loose wire in it and while looking for where it went, I found another loose wire. I could see where that one went and put it back. Then I noticed another wire had come loose. So the two loose wires are the black and red wires coming from the "A" battery pack. I think they may go to the battery check control, but I cant see anywhere they could have been soldered. If anyone has a Judge 2 and could take a picture of where the wires go, I would really appreciate it. Thanks

You may see a (+) or (-) on the circuit board. Or a (B+) & (B-) or a (com) usually referred to as the negative.

Red being + or B+, black being - or B- or common.

The wires should naturally reach the area of the circuit board they were detached from. That could be a clue on where to start looking, a magnifying glass could reveal broken strands of wire also from the location.

Also sometimes on older units, if you have the manual, in the back they would show a schematic wiring diagram.

Be certain not to reverse polarity.

I did find a schematic for it, but I can't tell which wires go to the batteries.

Can you scan or take a pic of the schematic and post it?

Does the battery pack have one set of red & black wires or two sets?

I uploaded the schematic. I can see the A,B, and C terminals on the right, but I can't really understand where they connect. Judge 2 schematic

The battery packs are 4 AA each and three packs. I found my manual. Sometime in the past I had soldered another wire back. There was a paper in the manual with a drawing of where the batteries connected, so now I know where to put them. I must have known this was going to happen. Thanks for trying to help.
