Minelab - Is there a new detector being released soon???

It also looks like they are going back to the 0-99 scale which is nice.

A Manticore has the head of a man, body of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion.

My bet is they chose this name because the detector blends 3 technologies.

Multi IQ, FBS, and another tech.! Maybe BBS.

Looks nice. But at this point these manufacturers seem to be putting new lipstick on the same old pigs. I think I will stick with my equinox and deus2 for a while. Until some revolutionary new technology advancement happens.

The performance difference in the machines in recent years is so small its not worth switching machines all the time. I think most people will have more success by mastering their current machine vs swapping to the latest releases each time.

You may be right. The Manticore could be a slight bump improvement over the Equinox. But here's to hoping it's basically a CTX 3030 with the weight and recovery speed of the Equinox.

I just saw a teaser about it. Can't remember what it was called though. Something like Manticor.

You know, at first I didn't like the -10 to 40 scale, but after using it for a while and then going to the Deus II, I realized the extra numbers don't get me anything.

I found it much easier to sort my mental library of targets into 40 bins, instead of ~75-100 bins.

On the Equinox, going from 16 (2 euro coin) to 15 (bottlecap) to 14 (pulltab) felt like meaningful bins to categorize targets in, and each change in TID meant something.

Compared to on the Deus II, the difference between an 88, 87 and 86 is a totally meaningless. Too many mental bins is hard to organize and memorize, but that is just me.

I actually always thought they tightened up the numbers to make it seem more accurate on targets.
But I can see your point too.
