Cold calls are difficult! When you go door to door asking permission you are really doing cold calls. Your are right this did warm things up a bit for me in this neighborhood.

A piece of advice for everyone be willing as difficult as it may be at times to give back to property owners because in the long run it really does pay off.

Cold calls are difficult indeed! I have only done maybe six or seven in teh last month, and was nervous every time... But not one of them turned me down. And I have always offered to show them what I find. If there is anything that pertains to the history of their property or the families on it in years past, I make sure to find out if its something they want. But I also let them know that I'm looking for buttons and coins...
