Just garbage, but at least it's something

I headed out back behind my house yesterday with my new detector. I live in the country in NW, PA. It was very rocky where I was digging, with about 2" of topsoil and then I encountered rocks that were tough to get through.
I was getting a lot of signals in the eighties that produced nothing and simply disappeared once I had the hole dug. I spoke with Garrett and they said it might be the coil. they are sending me another one to try. They also had me do a factory reset, which just doing an air test in the house seems to have "calmed down" the detector.

Anyway... I was able to find three items. Two are known, the partial tin can and the shot bullet. Although I have no idea why a shot bullet would be laying where it was. All I can think of is that a squirrel or something dug it out of my shooting backstop, then carried it 130yds towards the house and decided it wasn't a nut :hmmm: But the rock(?) has me wondering.

It is very porous, sand colored when dry, nonmagnetic, pings a 37 on my Ace 400 and is as light as balsa wood. I can't break it apart with my hand.
When I found it I thought it was a ball of foil. I could swear I saw silver on the high spots when I rubbed it with my glove, but I'm not seeing any silver colors now. It does not smell like aluminum dross when wet, but maybe that is due to its small size. Any rockhounds here? I'm sure it's not worth anything, I'm just curious what it is. I've never seen a rock like this before. It was certainly out of place with the other rocks I was digging.

lava rock perhaps

Now there's an idea.
I haven't had a grill that used lava rock in years, but that might be spot on. I wish I had a piece to run it over the coil and compare it.

Thanks!
