JB Xpress

I'm so sorry.

What made you think he was having a problem serious enough to ask him to smile? Was he incoherent or not really responding?

Saw this on FB, but didn't put two and two together, to realize it was JBExpress. Good luck JB, wishing you the best.

I have been trained as a first responder and with my exwife and current wife either in or been in the emergency medical field I kinda know a few signs to look for.

You ask them to smile and then look for a sag one one side or another. They can't feel it, but other people can see it.

Update on James.

They will be moving him to a rehab facility after Christmas for him to complete rehab then go home after he accomplishes the task they give him. He still can't move his left arm but has slight feeling in it and can move his left foot for a few seconds. it wear him out physically and mentally fast. He is off the soft food diet and can eat what he wants as long as it is low sodium. His road is long but there is a end in sight.

Probably not. My stroke was tiny compared to his, it was 4 years ago next week and I have mostly recovered, until it comes back. The fact is, there is "no getting over it". Stroke is caused by bleeding in your head and it's always going to be a weak point.

Shout out and positive vibes !!!

Sending some healing thoughts. Hope it helps.
I'm almost exactly one year from my last trip to the ER. TBI and induced coma twice in a one year span. Still no definitive reason as to why. :?:
First one was the real mystery, second was (according to what I learned from my brother), very close to attempted murder. Different story.
Anywho, recovery is tough and can be very discouraging.
Best wishes to JB and his family.
Marty

My only advice is to enjoy life and don't let it bother you. Worry is the worse thing you can do. Watch your diet, trim off the fat, take Vitamin C, it let's your blood carry more oxygen. I don't do any heavy exercise. I am the same weight I was when I Enlisted. Basically, if it feels good, do it.

Thank you for the update, every time I’m on the forum, and sometimes when I’m not, I think of James and appreciate the update. Thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and anyone that donated! I am in rehab and will be discharged Jan 21st! Can't wait the therapist say I'm progressing so fast.. I can now walk with a Hemmy walker and a cane. I walked 75 feet alone today, no walker or anyone's help. I am pushing hard!
