Is this some kind of projectile?

Been searching the woods around my home and come across some buttons from the late 1700s to early 1800s. Near them I found this. Idk what to make of it. I was looking at projectiles from the civil war and from the revolutionary war. What do you guys think?

I would say no, the back is way too flat to be any kind of realistic projectile. I would guess something slightly more modern off of a piece of machinery maybe.
