It’s like a Karen flipping over tables at an Olive Garden because the breadsticks are stale.
Then cries and screams the “customer is always right!” as security drags her out.

dang that is a lot I would contact Nokta/Macro the one I purchased was no where close to the same as yours
I have a Quest Q30 and some people claim Quest detectors are made cheap. I know it isn't made as cheap as the Simplex detector is.
Also the Q30 will not fail in being able to tell iron from a coin like most Nokta/Makro detectors do.
What is wrong about complaining about a faulty product?
If they were great for customer service, why haven't they done something about replacing it?
Forgot, during my short test time yesterday, the Garrett PP (black one) causes terrible static/crackle in the wireless headphones. Freq shift of the MD made zero difference.
You either have to remove the HPs or shut them off. After 15 minutes, I shut the Simplex off, and grabbed a detector free of problems.

Looks like someone's here simply to up their post count. Try multi quoting
Pay close attention here folks, the fan bois are mounting their defense. This is what happens when you speak your mind. If they don't like what you have to say, even when proven, this is what they resort to to silence the facts.
So watch closely, because just yesterday I'd read an admin post this:
When you can't prove someone wrong, start fling poo like a monkey in a tree.
ETA: It's also funny when people who obviously didn't take time to read the post, make comments. I also see none of those who made claims and accusations have yet to return to substantiate them.
I wonder why...........
Just what are you insinuating about my post?
I have the Simplex as well as several other Nokta Makro units. I remember when I had coil ear issues with the Racer model and emailed the company and was promptly sent a new coil.
I was also a tester for the Makro Multi Kruzer and had good interactions with the company.
BUT I agree with Gauntlet on this over flexible shaft, I used the Simplex with the 11” coil on a mid 80 degree weather last year and let me tell you it was like having a wet noodle for a lower shaft! It was actually so bad that I went back to my truck and packed up the Simplex and pulled out my E Trac to finish the day with. I ended up fixing my problem by putting a wooden dowel inside the lower shaft but like the OP says, why should I have to modify a brand new product.
I do think they make some good products and most times they look at customer feedback and act accordingly BUT did not do so in this case. Even if only 1 out of 1000 people have a problem, it sucks for that one person. They should have just sent him an improved lower shaft in the beginning then they most likely would have had him praising their customers service rather than their lack of such. They made the wrong decision and are now paying the price for it. It was the company’s choice. I can see now that it has come to a matter of principal and have taken similar stands based on principal in the past. Any consumer who feels they did not get what they paid for has a right to complain. They should have just sent the guy a new shaft and avoided all this.
What are you so paranoid about? How exactly am I "insinuating" anything about it? Is it not permitted to quote posts now?
I'm assuming those having the wet noodle shaft issue are tall & from warmer states? The reason I say that is I used mine for a long time and in hot weather and never knew anything about a shaft issue until this thread.
I watched the video and see it does have more flex than the other two. Of course, one has a round shaft so it wouldn't flex anyway, but I noticed the flex is up and down and not left to right. Does it have the same flex if you turn the shaft on its side like it was being swung from left to right and not up & down? Something tells me the flex would be much less from left to right.
Just asking!
To say a part is not faulty until the Manufacturer decides it's faulty is a stretch. Imagine you just paid $100,000 for a new Corvette only to find out the seat continues to come loose. Obviously you can go buy the tools to tighten it yourself. (Not that expensive). But the seat continues to noodle your *** as you drive.
You contact the manufacturer and their response is.....Sir although there are some complaints of this issue, we haven't had ENOUGH complaints too warrant a recall to fix the issue. Let's give it a few years and see how it goes. I mean after all your can just tighten and re-TIGHTEN the bolts right? Right?
I know, You are now going to point out that there is a big difference between $100,000 car and a $250 medal detector. But in principal it isn't different at all.
When principal goes out the window and people accept whatever for their money, then Look forward to bigger issues with more expensive items.
As I stated before, they should have just sent him a new shaft to remedy the issue and it all could have been avoided. Probably would have been cheaper than losing the sales they lost over this thread. But it's their company. They have a right to run it into the ground however they choose.

If they were to send a replacement shaft to Gauntlet they would need to send me two, and send a whole lot more to everyone that complained. I complained 18 months ago and did not receive a replacement. I was told the carbon fiber shafts would be out soon. So instead of complaining further, I said thanks for letting me know and I just bought the carbon fiber shaft for $29 US. I put the small coil on the stock shaft with too much forward/back flex (as Detector noted there is very little side to side flex) and put the 11” coil on the carbon fiber shaft and called it good.
I guess my resolution is not suitable for everyone.
The Legend by contrast already has the carbon fiber shaft as a stock. It is well built and detects as advertised. So, making assumptions about the Legend based on the stock lower shaft being too flexible on the Simplex doesn’t fly.

I can tell you Chevy is not going to send out a replacement bolt based on the complaint of a few and a video without first having it brought in to a dealer to be tested. They will want to know if it is a production wide issue or just something a few don't like.
