If your considering a Simplex

15 month old post, still selling the same stuff

My only negative and it is quite a negative is the ridiculous lower shaft on the Simplex I received from a well known vendor. This Simplex was a basic model with no wireless headphones. It was a return and I purchased it for substantially below the new price. It looked new to me but maybe the lower shaft issue was the reason for the return. It should have been replaced. Watch this video of a Gold Kruzer, Vanquish and Simplex comparing lower shaft flex.I hope there is some kind of solution for this. I know there is some kind of insert that goes into the end of the lower shaft. I don't think it will help this flimsy, too easy to bend plastic toy shaft however.

So why don't they correct it?

Gauntlet, that is my video. Nokta Makro is not going to “correct” it unless they consider there is something wrong with it. So far after almost 2 years they don’t.

I hope you don't still think they are going to do anything other than offer you the $35 solution. Cause it ain't happening. Just saying

I don't want, expect, nor would accept ANYTHING from them. They've shown everyone EXACTLY what warranty and quality mean to them. I hope they enjoy the money they got from me, because they won't have the opportunity to get any more of it. If others here learn from it, fine, if not, they by all means, support a company like this if you choose.

Thanks for making it! I'd just ran across it yesterday, as I was curious as to how long and how common of an issue this was.

Agreed, as I'd said, if they admitted what a useless piece it is, they they'd have to make it right. They would rather keep the money from those who took them at their word. The sad part is those who have seen this, yes can't wait to support them.

LOL, there's a saying about a fool and him money. "Grandma Pyle" had a saying too, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me".

Supporting them is saying such low quality is acceptable.

I have a question for you Gauntlet we have been reading your bashing post of Nokta/Macro for quite a few days now every post and reply you have put up is basically a bash on them not only on this forum but every forum you are a member of.

here is my question for you if you had a company and all you read from one person is something bashing their products would you want to correct something for that person, I will tell you I would not I would pretty much tell you to take a flying hike off of a cliff, you keep saying because of a simple fix Nokta/Macros products are !!!!, they are not, you obviously do not know how to use a search engine on a PC, because if you did you could have found the info you keep bashing on several internet forums, the shaft was plainly pointed out as being quite flexible by several people on forums it was there for the reading, but yet you still made the decision to purchase one,the lower shaft on my simplex is not like the one on yours but rather then take a chance that I would have an issue of to much shaft flex I went ahead and spent the paltry $30 something to be safe if money is the issue I understand but I think personally you just like to bash Nokta/Macro, and honestly I feel your thread should be locked because I for one am tired of reading the bull because you do not feel you should have to spend a paltry $30 thank god you did not purchase an Equinox and had to deal with a $150 shaft replacement to correct something mine lab should have or would you have even opened up and put your anger to type I truly believe you would not have.

 Really? PLEASE point out these other forums. Now, you made the accusation, so back it up.

Come on now, show me ANY other forum I'm active on.

Apparently, if a person complains about the wrong thing around here, some want to shut him down. Lock the thread???

Looks like a pretty legit concern to me. I don't think a good answer is to point out how you just need to spend more money with the company to fix it. Just as well tell someone to get some CPVC pipe and hose clamps.

It's refreshing to hear from someone that actually owns the thing. This linking to Youtube channels to hear what some paid off guys opinion is NOT why I come to forums. I come to a forum to hear what other users have to say.

Anybody with a search bar can find the Youtube videos.

I wasn't even going to reply to this, seeing as how you opened with something that's totally falsified, unlike the proof I've posted of the inferior quality of this part. But I changed my mind after reading further.

I don't accept exchanging my money for junk, you might be perfectly content with it, I'm not. You're rehashing old news. I want NOTHING from them, I'm simply letting potential buyers know they've had as issue for 2 years they've refused to correct. Had I been aware of it, I WOULD NOT have thrown my money away on this detector, I'd have purchased a better quality pne.

Odd, you telling me I should have researched my purchase, yet you'd pre-ordered a Legend. How exactly does that work? Time machine?

Again, "several internet forums", did it ever cross your mind I'm not the only dissatisfied purchaser? And again, show us all these other forums you claim I'm on.

Stop over dramatizing. Providing proof of a low-quality product in order to assure others they are still selling them, isn't "bashing", as showing their refusal to warranty them isn't as well.

If you're tired of reading this, then stop. Don't you have the self-control to simple stop reading it? Seriously? Locked for what, because you don't like it? Is someone forcing you to read it?

My issue is with the brand I'd spent money on, not another brand, so that has nothing to do with it. My "anger"?

Again, this post is to let anyone who is looking at this detector, that they need to spend additional money due to the fact of this issue with the lower shaft they have failed to correct.

They are the ones in the wrong, perhaps you should focus YOUR "anger" on them to correct it. Had they provided me with a halfway decent quality lower shaft, this thread wouldn't even needed to exist now would it.

I'll be waiting to see all these other forums I'm on. So again, provide proof.

Yes, and I made the mistake of listening to all the "praise" this detector got here, and I regret it. Had I seen a thread like this, I'd have spent my money elsewhere, or at least known I had to spend more to have a useable detector.

I think the issue is more about how the complaint was presented/addressed.

It seems this would be an issue more for tall people as I know many, including myself, that have no issues. Being my age, I have issues with the weight of the CTX. Do you think I can convince them it is a flaw for us older people and needs to be fixed?

It was pointed out to be an issue for taller people. They offered a fix that cost more. I just fail to see where the problem is other than the attacks. Maybe they would have offered the new shaft at a reduced price had it been presented as less of an attack?

Just seems like such a fit for a $250 detector.

An "issue" for who? People reading, or those refusing to warrant a faulty product? If the latter, once again, show me how warranty is applied via sliding-scale. It either is or isn't. And again, they refuse to warranty for the sake of profit.

See, you're claiming something I'd already shown regarding the length of shaft extension. Go back and read/see pics. This weak lower shaft has NOTHING to do with over-extension.

LOL, "anger" and "fit" I've honestly laughed at some of these replies.

This.

You're certainly entitled to your opinions. The difference is, my "opinion" is backed by photographic evidence, someone's video who wasn't pleased with the quality of the same issue, and the agreement from others.

Everyone take note that their warranty coverage hinges on how "nice" you are, and not based upon the poor quality workmanship of their lower shaft.

I've yet to see ANYONE substantiate me being active on ANY other forum as claimed. Wonder why that is?

I know why, they CAN'T, because I'm not.

Matter of fact, go back through this thread, and look at all the claims made, and not the 1st one has come back to prove their statement.

By all means, keep point fingers at me for the failure of someone else.

Deflection at its finest

Think about this....

You're a 15 year-old kid whos decided to start detecting. You save your allowance, and money from mowing yards, helping neighbors, shoveling snow, whatever.

After a few months, you have saved enough to buy your very first detector, and because of all the goodness you've heard about the Simplex, you have mom or dad order it for you, in exchange for all those hours of labor you toiled to collect enough money for the purchase.

You get a sub-par lower shaft with the detector.

Now go tell that kid he's got to cough-up an additional $35 for a new lower shaft because the one he's already paid for is laughable with a 1 pound 3 ounce coil dangling off the end.

Let me know what that kid says.

Seems like you're missing the point. You have every right to be annoyed or upset with the flexible lower shaft. But your response to it, in my opinion (as well as the opinion of several others I imagine) has been excessive.

Also, your hypothetical isn't analogous here because, as far as I know, you're an adult, not a 15 year old kid. If you were a 15 year old kid, I'd be cutting you a little bit more slack (but wouldn't letting you off the hook) in how you're handling this situation.

You're wrong. I'd admitted openly I'm the most terrible person on earth, I accept that.

Now, show me where that is cause for being excluded from warranty coverage.

I once did a $2.50 charge back on my card on a guy who ripped me on a battery.

Why didn't you have the heart to speak-up for the poor little kid who'd sent all his money in hopes of finding treasure. He'll probably grow up wrong and spend all his life in and out of jail. And all because you failed to stick up for him and were "OK" with being sent a noodle shaft with his simplex.

Shame on you........

And I think it's cute to believe you have me on some sort of "hook".

If 200,000 people find no fault with item bought yet there are 5,000 people who think its faulty and unusable as a company what would you do..guys are using the Simplex and literally throwing it across the yard trying to see if they can tear it up..it does no good to keep whining about what you think is a fault that should be fixed, most people do not have a problem with it and thats how companys base their decisions to fix something, the majority is right.
Nokta makes detectors that are probably the toughest on the market, you need to buy a couple high end detectors out there then you would have a reason to complain because they actually do have faults that can make them unuseable..
You sound like the kid who doesnt get what he wants for breakfast even though his brothers/sisters happily eat the same thing.
I'm done this thread is basically a waste of time and as said seems to just be to bash Nokta Makro.

ETA: Please cite proof of the numbers you'd posted, I'd like to read them.

Go back to page 1, Post #18, I believe it's about 40 seconds in, watch the woman use the word "FLIMSY", that was her admitting it.

So if that lower was so great, why did they create the carbon fiber one? You seem be unable to make up your mind.

Your earlier reply admitted they "cheaped out":
as said buy a Equinox then there's something to complain about, 170.00 to up grade shafts.. even if you pay 30.00 for carbon fiber shaft which I did for mine your still only into the detector for 284.00 before taxes which is still a bargain. They could of cheaped out on quality of whole machine but its actually built like a tank. The Equinox quality wise is a piece of !!!! compared to the Simplex. Also its pretty hard to cater to everyones needs so someone always ends up unhappy with something no matter what it is cars, trucks, boats or metal detectors.

You're wrong, I was the biggest kid so I ate what I wanted. The rest ate what I allowed them. :p

This isn't an airport, so no need to announce your departure. Have a nice day!
