Digging Prayers

Today I went back to an Old Hunt with the legend and my buddy was swinging his simplex light. I found a couple wheat pennies, a quarter, a dime, a regular penny and two strange items.
One item I pulled out rang up at a 45 strong. When I dug it up I couldn't find it. When I finally found it it was very small, about half the size of a dime, and it looked white. I thought for sure I had silver. It was folded over, so I gently unfolded it to see what it was. All I could tell was that it looked white like silver.
I took it home and cleaned it up the best I could and I'll let you see below what it was. If I'm not mistaken it's from 1940 but I'm not sure of the date. Any help would be appreciated.
The second item, after examining it closely and searching the internet, is a cracker Jack noise maker from 1948.
