Ok Doug call me hard headed and if I'm missing something, please by all means point it out. So we all know in Multi that the EQ high tones and calls rusty bent iron a good target. Likewise 4k calls just about any target good, even mid conductors. So using 4k to verify a high tone, maybe jumpy iffy signal is not IMO not very reliable. Its lies to you like a politician on election day. I have hunted with the Eq 800 since they were released, I know a coin tone when I hear one, its that maybe ,what if, could be signal we all try to pick out. But the only way is to dig it. I see you have been at this a long time so again if I'm missing something ??? Some things I try on an iffy signal, turn 90` 1 If not already in horseshoe I switch, 2 I switch to 2 tone, Also I try F2 and run it up to 8 to see if the signal starts to break up. And I have had all these things sound great, bouncy #s but never drop out of the 30s and still come up with rusty iron. Another thing I noticed was lack of deeper signals. I have actually rolled back to the previous version and have had more success with better and deeper signals. And yes same hunting grounds. Settings I use are Field 2 5 tone rec 4 ib 0. I started using that last Oct. and more than doubled my silver take by years end and had a great start to the new year till the Covid thing happened. So 3.0 does not impress me, but I'm always willing to listen because the one thing I have learned about this hobby is there is sure thing. Happy Holidays to you and your family . Mark
