Fisher Impulse AQ detector update

HHhhhmm. 2 questions about the S.S. :

1) In all honesty , would you say that an elongated gold bracelet (or Mr. T gold chain, or gold crucifix, etc...) ALSO give a double-beep on the SS ?

2) Does the "double-beep trick" cease to work, when a nail is bent ? Ie.: it only works when the nail is straight. Right ?

I found about a dozen gold gold bracelet/necklaces and several dozen silver with the SS. That I can recall none were double beep (nearly 10 years ago). But they aren't a double beep on the TDI either. This is usually 999 gold and 999 silver. Lower %s might have a different response.
Nails have never been a problem where I hunt. Used to get the odd ship spike... I can't even remember the last time I saw a nail never mind a bent one giving a wanky signal.

Thanks for taking a shot at my question.

All I can say is: I've bumped into several, who have made similar claims. With several types of PI's, at beaches in our stomping grounds. And when the beaches are super nail-riddled (after storm erosion), those guys drift away, in search of cleaner grounds.

There are spots like that where everything is shallow and multiple targets per swing. Just not with nails

I just want to add to this lovely discussion, a pulse machine is hard work, no if and or but. One can adjust their hunting style and utilize some tricks to increase their odds, same as looking for erosion on the west coast of Florida, great in theory a bit harder in practice. Iron will be dug, you will dig deeper, each machine has its trade off. I have a tdi beach hunter to compliment my excal II, and I just learned something very interesting about it, I found a nice 10 gram 18k wedding band with the excal at around 12 inches give or take, was a very iffy signal in discriminate but still solid in pinpoint, I know from experience that could be a good target. With the tdi in straight pi mode, I can hit it all day at 15 inches, as soon as I turn ground balance on to any setting, I can no longer detect the ring more than 10-12 inches. This is not so with some of my other rings, they don’t lose nearly as much depth but this 350 dollar scrap price ring practically disappeared. I suspect this new machine may have similar quarks.

I predict that Dave Emery will bring the surf/pulse devil to fruition before Fisher brings out the white whale they call the AQ

You could right.... lot of crickets. They even stopped talking on Steve’s forum. Come Summer everyone will be out of the mood. My big concern is IF they ever get this thing out .... it might be short lived before they bring the next BETTER version of it. I don’t want them to put one out just because

You guys are pawns in my opinion.. its a niche market making this for beach hunters... they rather make them for the dirt guys... again my opinion based on what I have read.

My prediction.... Craig will have one two years from now....:cool3:

I talked to Earl today, even he is on hold....:pirate:...but he did get a New 25 foot Pirate Ship...

I say, Always quietest before the storm hits.

Come on "AQ"!!

You will be in the old folks home before you see the AQ

Now that day is coming for sure!

I wore a weight belt today and feeling it now..

I will have to say : I've watched a couple of your videos and they are some of the best out there. No messing around or bs. Idk how many you have out there , would be nice to see shots of the surrounding area you hunt. Shoreline : to see how far you are offshore. Just some different angles , but I guess you want to protect your hunting grounds.

Thank You......Got about 420 video's, most are private. I like simple, and don't want to spend all day editing. Plus I'm not really after subs and likes, to many watching that would like to know where I hunt.

We may be pawns Craig, BUT.....if this machine can do what it says im all for a limited number being out there. I think its going to be like the CTX..... there will be those who jump and those who wait.... maybe a few years before they buy one. A lot will depend on those of us who buy..... will we talk about them? I noticed that with the MDT....... those who have um dont talk much but ive not heard a lot of bad press. They arent flying off the shelfs....... BUT they are darn good machines for beach hunting.

Joe .... still on your side. We need this kind of niche machine. Most would have a PI who want depth .... the only reason they dont..... DISC. Those of us who use or have used an Xcal in PP likes the simplicity of reverse disc and what it can do. A PIs has the ability to work in harsh conditions.... better than a VLF, we know that. Throw in 7uS and if it can run silent...... heck yes im in. If i dont see another one on the beaches i hunt....... hey Fisher may not be, but im ok with that. But i cant believe..... there wont be a lot of interest fairly quick. 2/3 of the month gone..... im beginning to think Christmas isnt coming.

My Prediction

OBN pulls 225 gold after delivery of the AQ in 2020s 2nd half of the year , Craig sells all his snow plow equipment for lack of snow , and gives me 1/2 off of a blacktop & Fencing & land scape - job in fall of 2020, Joe I will be flying the pirate flag on my new vessel ,any ideas on a pirate name for the boat ? Besides Gold Slumpy

Dew... the only reason I am not currently swinging a pulse is because I am no longer hunting pulse friendly beaches... I hunt spots where you can see the red rust bleeding through the bottom...

If you think you are not going to dig iron you are have swallowed too much of whatever koolaid these guys are giving you... you will dig deep small iron.

As to that 7uS micro-seconds maybe you can use it but Joe won't be able to nor would I so its a complete waste... I can't even run 10uS I'm stable around 13uS.

Even a discriminating detector can and is fooled by iron... what makes you think this wonder detector will totally block out iron? Because they say it will?

They blew it already... they send out a rep to talk it up get you guys all drooling for the latest and greatest and now because of issues and I don't care what they are... they are silent.. We are not talking about a new project here it was in the works for years... bottom line put up or shut up that is what should be said to these talking heads... its why I compare it to that other detector...

What about posting say 6 months after you know you have cleaned it out ? Is that even possible ? I can't see how those targets move around much. Idk. Maybe you keep hitting 1 particular area over the years that continuously gives up the goods. I thought most of these areas are old and don't get new swimmers.
Inland bays and such here in So.Cal , the stuff just sits. So I only hunt them every year or two for fresh drops once I know it's been cleaned out.

Definitely A

Disapointment here , at least ML keeps me happy , and keeps it's promise , when it comes to delivering on new machines , they keep them coming , while some other manufacturer's seam to be slowing down , this huge delay of production of this machine , hoping it would be a benifit of hitting below the replenishment sand, has been removed from the back burner, to the closet , I'll get my driveway blacktop- ed for 9k first , Craigs wright Joe, until you test it , what ever year it finally comes out RIP.:( My 2019 tax back money will now be spent for other needed things.

Every beach I hunt continues to give, maybe not like it did when I first hunted them but gold still can be squeezed out. The bay has some great movement due to the winds and tides...and even though the hunters years ago killed the gold, the movement of all allowed a little to be saved for the future hunters. The bad there are no swimmers at these spots now days ...once it is gone, there is no one replacing it..

I see the Fisher "AQ" as the machine that helps when spots get weak...

Thanks Earl, Each year gets a little harder and harder.....So I no longer have goals other then to keep moving. When the "AQ" does come it will be a welcome addition but I'm not expecting it to be the machine that changes history. Those who think it will...will be highly disappointed.
