Couple hours at the beach today..

Are you ok Joe?

No... that was not first finds that was at what is called today by those in the know the happy hunting grounds...

I started plundering beaches further south at PI JOE's home beach... its how I met PI JOE he was sitting watching me from a pavilion and decided to take a walk down and started asking me questions about water hunting and because I was killing the gold at his beach I didn't want his company pillaging it so I told him he would do much better at beaches further south that Raymond and I had already tidied up  back then were were using VLF's on the wet and dry sand...

That day I was working a trough alone I can't remember how I did that day... but it was the beach I found my first gold on which I wear today... first 4 gold from Joes beach were all wedding bands... first hunt after 3 weeks of finding every piece of iron and tiny steel staples over a foot down with my PI PRO I was ready to fling that detector into the water... I hated it coming from being a dirt hunter... the next day I found 1 gold so I went back with Raymond and I pulled 3 gold rings on the wet sand around one of these swimming balls they anchor out in water to keep you swimming inside of you and the rest is history... I loved my PI after those two hunts

Raymond was a great guy I met him hunting a beach... I started working for him doing his landscaping but every time I found gold he would utter under his breath 25 years of hunting alone and now I am sharing finds  Every time I found gold he had to utter those words... he uttered them an awful lot...

Raymond is no longer with us... he had moved back home to Texas to bring up his two boys with his wife... while there he got sick and passed.... he died way too young 67... he was a great guy but didn't like sharing the gold and he shared a lot of it

Wow, great memories. A month later after that encounter which I was ready to take your head off with your own scoop lol, I purchased Detector Pro PI. The next 12 months if I recall, you found 50+ gold rings and I got 35. Hey, bring up that post of some of us together including Carol and Vlad of all those rings we found in 2 days.

I have a very good memory for some things... I can still remember the look on your face when I tried steering you away from your own beach

The good old days

I'll look for those posts later... got to get ready for work and finishing up tax stuff..

Nice hunt! I'm still learning how to hunt a beach. I've gotten some great advice from other hunters out there. Each time I hunt a beach, I come equipped with a little more "know how". Still looking for that first gold ring, but I can tell it's not far off!

We are all still learning to hunt beaches:lol: Good thing is after a period of time it gets a lot easier to just "Look" at a beach. Remember my first year after six months i had no gold. Then the next six i got six gold. After that i was paying more attention to the beach. Then i was digging gold at beaches where others said there wasn't gold. It was there thick. Just not where they were looking. Gold luck!

Nice finds! I'm itching to get back on the beach. Been a few years. It's amazing the places you can find gold rings. I found one years ago on a mud bar way up a river. It wasn't even a swimming area.

Thanks... I still have the ring after all these years... old interesting finds I keep the rest I enjoy

I read a lot of hype about what detector is right and as far as I am concerned if you can't read a beach in the water, it doesn't matter what detector you are using... I am successful because I know where to hunt and what look for while in the water... I won't find a ring everyday but I know if I don't find one in a particular spot it doesn't mean I won't find one in that same spot tomorrow... Every tide change, every gust of wind changes that beach and how it looks everyday...

I'll get off the soap box now :D

This is the main reason I like this post and bumped it up...Your very consistent in finding gold, so these words must hold true. And it was 18 Years ago!

We are all older Joe

I won't post that on those other threads...

Joe... you know this more than anyone... if you know your machine and know where to hunt and how to hunt... you can outhunt others with detectors that may have more power and depth... the detector is just the tool... skills matter.

Now I have to go gas up my truck and get more magnesium... and wait for the storm to visit I hope it veers further east...

Pretty weird where i am Joe. Most here do not water hunt. And yes the waves can beat you up. I actually detected about 5 years without ever seeing another water hunter. And i was loving it. My old friend i used to hunt with i first met on this forum was wondering where i was getting my gold at. I said " The same beach as you hunt" He's like "That beach stinks!" I said " Does it?" He killed it after that when i couldn't go for a year when my parents were passing away.

Carol may still have some video's on their youtube page... I'll look later on... cooking for the queen she is hungry
I had a really good post, see if I can find it.. Carol and Vlad.. and video's where she found a ring in a clump of something.

She has a video of us at a beach... it was very windy day... we took you and Earl... there I think he found those silver coins there... I just got up from a nap... its gonna be a long night and day tomorrow for me... its gonna suck..

love that old ring Craig, this storm will keep you going for a while for sure. Looks like the wind and waves are going to tear up some beaches towards the east.
