Coronavirrus

Oh shoot. My post might have come off wrong. Im more worried about us firefighters that travel the country fighting fires for the gov. I wasent trying to compare “fire sizes” haha. We are trying to come up with ways to have large fire camps without a spread of corona if it lasts that long. I have worked on the Aspen Fire, Rim Fire, Pine Fire to name a few. Im quite familiar how it works.

Man , don't worry about it ! Though it did come "off" a bit , I was joking as well. Thank you for your service. The "fire" we are all concerned about now is the virus. I just hope everyone does there part. Many in So.Cal are not. They don't wear masks or gloves in the grocery stores. Could also be that they can't get their hands on any though , idk. Staying inside is what most are doing here. Streets are a virtual ghost town.

I know. I already shut up a while ago. Although i don't think otherwise. Not family friendly? Then all corona subjects should also be closed, as dying elderly and weak isn't family friendly either.
People here started to panic, forgetting that what IS/WAS needed. Exactly as people overhere did, and were i helped many remain concentrated on the facts. Why i posted some 'funny' pics about panicing and redundant of that.

Mind that i with best intentions was only trying to inform you all in front for what was comming at you there. Harder then we here, and we got it hard.
By doing "what they can" they made me shut up .... also making me stop informing.
The forum (and us citizens) could have been prepared from one in the middle of it. You could have been informed very good.
The forum (and us citizens) lost with that to. Not only me.

My country, and my region were it started here, seems to have it under control, at least until this moment, for a long time already. Still exciting and this week will tell if we lose some control. I could have helped you with information.
It could have been a win-win situation. Now it ends in a lose-lose situation. :( Either not family friendly, but whatever, it was not my choice, not my responsabiltiy.
The discussion is closed for me, as...

OMG  now i get news about how hard it got you overthere.
I feel very sorry for you.
Follow the restrictions and avoid any risk.
GOOD LUCK! Stay healty!

These were my last words here on this subject.

Beest,

Your post was deleted by one of our moderators because it contained unnecessary information about the effects the shutdown had on sex workers in the Netherlands.

Now, I know such work it is legal in your country, but we are family oriented and have many minors who come to the forum.

The rules here in the UK are stay indoors except for essential food shopping,
and a short walk for exercise. At all times keeping at least 6ft away from
other people.
London City airport is closed to civilian traffic, and is now RAF Nightingale.
RAF aircraft bringing in supplies and casualties to the nearby Excel exhibition
centre, now called NHS Nightingale. This virus can only be controlled if
people do what they are told.

Watching the News tonight ?

To see what they come up with next, as it seems we are loosing the war 92,932 infected in the US passing by China , of coarse closing our beaches down before the season was 100% effective :laughing: Rudy time's have changed , i just got done reading your post dated begining of March -500 + cases in the US , everything has happened so fast , it would be interesting hearing- in this thread , WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINK'S WE SHOULD DO, THAT HASN'T ALREADY BEEN DONE :?::?::?::?::?:

Enforce the shut down with stiff penalties. But all the tak about reopening by Easter is sending the wrong message to the people about how serious this is As Fauci said, the virus and not humans should set the timetable.

RUDY Agree

I don't see this ending anytime soon, however a year to get the drug fix will kill to many, 4 to 6 weeks at the most , maybe you could cut the red tape howboughtit , one day the beaches will re- open , just seeing on the news , people are dieing transitioning them from a ventilator status - to tring to get them to breath on there own , hearing this makes me very sad , agree Easter is not happening , Labor day has a better chance ! Just in a few hours over 97 k with the virus , it's growing out of control :(

It will not surprise me at all that when we wake up Saturday morning the US totals will surpass the 100,00 number of infected and over 1500 who have died.

Ron

Don't know when they update the system , but it went from 92 + to 97 + in a couple hours , look at the time line from 92 to 97 the last couple posts , bunker down as long as you can , is my motto here ! Ps ? 51 doctors now dead in Italy , what happens when this happens here . Also just in 969 died in one day today thier .

Well, I spoke too soon...

It is now 101,321 cases and 1567 deaths. (unless it changed as I am typing)

Tragic number of deaths, but the number of flu deaths every winter are 10 to 40 times that on average. Have to keep it in perspective...

Is it lack of treatment that has is all bent out of shape then?

There is Hope

By now, you may be used to reading a constant stream of bad news. But here’s a reason to be cautiously optimistic: There are signs that strong isolation and intervention measures have slowed the spread of the virus in an early U.S. hot spot.

After cases started to grow in New Rochelle, N.Y., earlier this month, a one-mile-radius containment zone was put in place, the National Guard was called in, and widespread testing was adopted. Health investigators tracked down people potentially infected by a lawyer thought to have been the source of the spread.

Over the last four days, New Rochelle reported just 38 new cases to the county. State and local health officials cautioned that it was too early to declare victory, but it’s a significant drop — early on, the city saw more than 20 new cases a day.

“In the beginning, it felt like house arrest,” said one resident whose family was placed into quarantine. “But the punishment turned out to be a blessing in disguise. This is really a case of perspective.”

Nope, it's the media beating us over the head with it every day. I do not need to see a running tally of how many people have been infected and how many have died as the top news story. Time to pull it back a bit. We all know it's a bad situation, so it's not necessary to have Dr. Sanjay Gupta on TV every night. Give it a rest, CNN.

Agree a bit

One of the reasons i dont turn on CNN , very depressing , some fake news , i use this site to get updated , supplied from another member on here , a personal thanks to him https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6 wright now 104,007 cases in US 1693 deaths, 870 recovered , but public information need's to continue, as for someone like me, over weight, broncitis a couple times a year, sinus issues , i would most likely die - with this lung virus , so dont be mad, think of everyone, including the elderly , another thing , get used to these restrictions , until they find a cure .

Infection Simulator

This is a fantastic video! It shows the effects of different strategies, like social distancing, hygiene, testing and removal of infected individuals and more.

It really illustrates and brings home what the authorities are attempting to do.

Steve

OK , but maybe a Med., to keep people from dieing would be nice , i seen one guy on TV that had it , ready to die, they gave him the malaria drug with the Z pack and he pulled out of it the next day, hope at this point , is all most can hope for , in order to once again get thing's rolling again.

My state has an stay at home order so I looked at the order by our governors.
It has an exception clause for those that go for walks, runs an outside activity ( not golf).
It has the 6 foot rule.
Well all our schools are closed so I went an was all by myself at the school.
One Rosie dime.
Two Jefferson nickels
Three Buffalo nickels 1921, 1927, 1936.
Two cheap silver rings.
And 10 1/2 “ gold necklace
And I have a lot of school property left.
I’m safe because the closes peoples were300 feet.
And they are talking about not reopening the school this year. I feel sorry for the education the school kids are not receiving.
A lot of people were waving at me. In a good way.
Doug

Here in the UK it is likely that things will very quickly get worse, before slowly
improving. Isolation is the only way to contain this virus. Eventually they will
come up with an effective vaccine, but that could be a while yet.
