According to some very respected USA scientific journals reporting on Covid 19 as late as March 13, 2020 the actual source of this virus is still not known. It does have similar characteristics for origination in bats and or in large rodents similar to our armadillos. Those animals are not consumed by humans in China. This virus will die if it comes in contact with our stomach acids anyway. It can be transmitted through our mucus membranes, eye sockets and airways. The initial investigation collected over 500 surface samples which found 33 positive Covid 19 samples in a section of an outdoor seafood market in Wuhan, China. How those samples got there is completely unknown. If the virus was transferred to humans from those samples is unknown. Did an infected human cause those samples do be deposited on those surfaces is unknown. Even human patient ZERO and their nationality is unknown.
On the good side of what is known is that Covid 19 shows absolutely no trace of being bio-engineered despite some fringe or deliberately planted (by whom???) news stories. Covid 19 is a natural environmentally produced virus that really sucks, for sure.
