Attacked by a vicious man-eating snake

Glad the coil is ok. I think the only good snake is a dead snake.

You definitely have to watch out for those darn garters. They are vicious and will tear a man to shreds. Their strength and speed is the unreal. Only the roughest and toughest men alive can deal with them with the proper protective gear and most still don’t survive to tell the tale.

 I just don’t get the kill’em all mentality with anything just because we are pansies:laughing: My “tough as nails” 8 year old found and brought one home to take a pic with....

I had a German Shepard try to bite my coil once. I turned the detector off and he just stood there looking at it. When I turned it back on, he tried to bite it again.

Must be something to do with the electromagnetic field the detector creates. Seems like some animals react to it. A couple weeks back I was wading with my detector at a beach, when a guy asked me if I knew whether the detector emits electric currents, and if it affects the behaviour of animals. I replied I wasn't sure if the detector affects animals, to which he said he just saw a school of fish twitching and jerking a few feet away from me, and that he had never seen fish behave like that. Interesting observation...but I'm not sure if it had something to do with the detector.

Last year I took to of my kids out detecting with me and came across a couple of garters in my father in laws backyard. I was telling them they were harmless and bent over to pick one up to show it to them and it bit me on the finger a drew blood. They were laughing and wouldn't go near it after that. Earned me the stupid dad award for that one.

What's this pansie stuff. I'll kill one and never use protective gear. I kill them all and let God sort them out.
