Well, KT arrived back at the Castle from lunch to find the Castle Guards had been overwhelmed by a caravan of Ladies, and to prevent an uproar, they had allowed them into the Castle’s Royal Garden, and provided them with ice water and/or lemonade, their choice, to sip on until KT arrived! It was good that the Royal Guards had been observant enough to recognise that these Ladies had no offensive weapons with them, and as such, did has KT has so often recommended to make our visitors comfortable from their travels.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival, the Royal Guards told KT what they had done and were gratified to have KT’s support for their actions.
Now to the ladies...His Majesty requested that they elect a spokes person, to tell KT where they came from, and what they were needing and looking for. The spokes lady was very well educated, and informed KT that for the past few years, they had been wandering about, looking for some place where they could settle and be appreciated. Surprisingly, they were all from one village, and due to a terrible fire in which many perished and the village destroyed, the survivors had decided to live somewhere else, preferably together, bad memories being the end of their previous lives. Concerning their skills, several are bakers, several housekeepers, many had been nurses during the Vietnam War, some loved to garden, and a few had been secretaries, one was even a lawyer! KT asked if they wanted to be separated or to live closely together. When a vote was taken only one indicated that she would prefer to live separately, but she stated that she would happily go with what the majority wanted. KT informed them that He had recently purchased a 40 acre abandoned farm, with a nice farm house and several cottages. They suddenly were very excited, and when His Majesty told them it would take some work to set it all right and liveable, the spokes lady stated that they were not afraid of hard work.
The farm was only a ½ mile from the Castle, so KT had the Royal Carriage, and other conveyances put in order and we rode out to see the property. They were speechless, as there was essentially everything present to start and keep their community intact! They were all in agreement that the location was lovely, and that it was most kind of His Majesty to provide them with said accommodations. KT told the group he would send around two carpenters and a couple of male day workers from one of KT’s farms to assist them with getting the property in order. And that they should consider writing a list of things they would need to jump start their village. Upon arriving back at the Castle with them, KT had a group picture taken, and informed the Royal Kitchen to prepare enough food for them to have several meals provided for the next few days. They do have some money, but KT suggested they visit the local farms and purchase fresh vegetables and the Kingdom’s dress shop/clothing store to purchase their needs before returning to the property tomorrow morning. Tonight there will be a feast in the Grand Hall to welcome this community into the Kingdom!
