Hello everyone, yesterday I tried an old sports field, that goes back all the way to the teens. I've been here before, and a lot of silver has been pulled out, by other hunters. I got a few silver coins out of here previously. But on this day I was going to attempt to dig a lot more targets, and more trash. And let me tell you this place is one of the most trashiest places I've ever hunted in. There are smashed cans and old can slaw everywhere. And also it is like swimming in 1970s and 1980s pull tabs. There is a ton of them. And also lots of bottle caps, beer caps, malt liquor caps, and wine and whiskey caps. Didn't people ever hear of a trash can!!! Anyway, I was removing the trash and found some good stuff in between. I found 16 Wheat Pennies. The youngest a 1958 D, and the oldest a 1917. I also get two IH Pennies, and thier signals sounded just like the bottle caps I was digging. The dates are 1907, and 1898. I was surprised I found those at this site. I also got two Mercury Dimes. A 1939 and a 1944. A George Washington token of some kind, it doesn't appear to be very old. A small St. Gerard religious medallion. 3 keys, some marbles and beads, and an old lock plate, that requires a skeleton key to open it, so this must be old. And then I found something that pleasantly surprised me. I was digging 1970's memorial pennies one by one, and I was getting frustrated with that. I might have been digging in a 1970s layer soil in this area, but I didn't give up on this side of the area. I got a dime signal at 4 inches, and was like here we go another Memorial penny. But after I dug down I seen a nice silver ring. After cleaning it off and examining it further, I seen it was a class ring from 1978. It is marked sterling, with some initials on the inside. A pretty sweet find! Digging trash does pay off eventually, if you are in an old area especially. Well here are the pics of the finds everyone. Thanks for looking, and good luck on your future hunts. Happy Hunting Everyone!
