From the videos I’ve seen the simplex spanked the equinox 800,,literally..Lol..I’m thinking if that’s true it will be putting the nox on the shelf,or in the classifieds..wait,there’s always equinox machines there now, barely used only a few hours,,
Not seeing it,heck I’m still waiting to start seeing gold coins, caches and flat out mind blowing finds from all you guys who say the equinox is the holy grail..instead I see the same nickels and dimes being posted by equinox users ,same as everyone else using other brands are still posting since the equinox came out..
So,please do tell what makes it a better machine than a fisher,Garrett or whites? I mean did you guys find more nickels and dimes than you did with another machine? Not joking here either,I’m dead serious,,,what did you find with the equinox that you didn’t or couldn’t find with a Garrett ,whites or fisher? What did you find that put it in your minds that it is in fact the best machine made?
Hi Woodbutcher, I love your posts even though I don't always agree with your opinions. So, you are just going to have to trust me on this (or not, I'm good either way!)
I used the Tesoro Lobo and Minelab GP 3500 for 14 years along with later, the AT Gold (my first detector with a screen!!!) and an XT 705 as a gold prospector. I literally had never hunted for coins and jewelry on purpose until something clicked in my stupid brain in January of 2018. I started turf hunting and kept a coin and jewelry hunt log. I used my AT Gold, XT 705 and my new F19 at first. I was very familiar with two of them and hunted local parks and schools. Here were my results starting in the dead of winter....
Jan. 2018=$11.35, Feb. 2018=18.22, Mar. 2018=16.88, April 2018=12.85, May 2018=11.22, June 2018=14.10.
No rings or valuable jewelry hunting at least 10 days each month.
I BOUGHT A NOX 600 mid June of 2018 (sold the AT Gold and the XT 705) hunted the exact same parks and schools at least 10 days per month.
July 2018=$25.39, Aug. 2018=30.14, Sept. 2018=27.49, Oct. 2018=42.00. Nov. 2018=31.49, Dec. 2018=27.25. Jan. 2019 (super cold)=14.44, Feb.2019 =23.88, Mar. 2019=30.58, April 2019=48.06, May 2019=48.13, June 2019 =40.18, July 2019=41.47, Aug. 2019=45.50, Sept. 2019=54.50
Since buying the Nox 600=61 rings and lots of other jewelry both quality and junk. Rings=10 gold (41 grams), 14 silver, 5 tungsten, 4 stainless steel, 28 costume and junk rings............ also found plenty of silver dimes, indian heads and V nickels at depths of 8" or more. I have paid for my Nox 600 and 800 easily with these finds.
I definitely know that in my moderate to high mineralized soil, the Nox 600 will hit deeper targets (even down to 12" and more) with much more accurate target ID than the AT Gold, XT 705 and the F19 (which is awesome down to about 5"). I have also tried out several other detectors during this time including the AT Pro. None came close to the Nox (not even the Deus/Orx which I still own and am still learning) except for the Nokta Makro Multi Kruzer.
From the minute I turned on the Nox 600 it just clicked with me. No other detector has done that even though I REALLY love the F19/Tek G2+ and the Whites MX5/MX7. I am slooooowly learning to just kind of like the Deus......but at my age (64) lighter is definitely better.
With the Nox 600, if the target is a good one, I almost always know what it is even when it is 10" or more deep. Even nickels read as nickels at that depth. With every other detector I have used or owned a nickel becomes a silver dollar target ID wise after 5" deep in my dirt. So does every other piece of trash too if it is coin sized or smaller. Many of these same detectors simply will not detect an 8" deep coin sized or smaller target, period where I live.
So, for me in my soil conditions, the Nox 600 (and my Nox 800 which I use very successfully for prospecting and relic hunting) are working out really well.
thanks,
Jeff
