One of my best sites is only on a old hand drawn map. In stead of having a name next to the dot it has the letters S.C.
I just thought that the guy making the map didn’t know the name. But I just found another map in a different location that had the same letters S.C. I just don’t know what this could be. Anyone know or have a guess?

Could it mean south corner?
It looks like all the other named home sites to me. The only aberrations I see are B.S. for black smith and P.O. For post office. May they just didn’t know the guys full name?

You did say there was a Blacksmith and a Post Office right. To me, that would indicate a small community or village of sorts.

I noticed the same thing on some of my old maps, but in my case, it was an abbreviation for a gentleman who owned a few different properties. Instead of spelling out his name three times, they spelt it out once, and abbreviated it twice.

One room schoolhouse were often used for church services on Sundays. S.C. You already had that answer bottlecap4u.
