The power grid for Arkansas and surrounding states is stressed to the max. Substations are getting toasted due to the high demand. Our grid isn't configured to handle the load of 5 degree weather, like the northern states. Fortunately we heat with wood and only use the heat pump when I don't feel like building a fire in the stove, which is rare. We went through an outage yesterday, with others still out today. I have a generator to power most everything we use as well and thankful for the wood stove! We are having intermittent power surges now. I know of someone that's lost their heat pump to them already....Anyone else having issues?
