I recently took up the hobby of metal detecting. As I kid my Grandfather and I would always talk about doing it. He recently passed at 102. I miss him everyday. He would always tell me stories about his time in WW2 and how he wanted to take home a German helmet as a keepsake. Fast forward 70 years and I meet my wife who is German. After visiting Germany several times I decided to try metal detecting and sure enough I dug up a WW2 helmet. This ones for you Grandpa!

It is a Russian helmet and the grenade looks to be Russian as well.
Please,be careful with live ammo :wow:

Helmet

What part of Germany did u find them in, That will tell you what country it's from, USA or CCCP. They are great finds.

I was in eastern Germany along the Polish border. The consensus seems to be that it is a Russian helmet! There is still so much more to dig there, the whole forest is just full of relics. I am a bit weary to do it again next time I am there as it seems dangerous....but now that I started, it's hard to stop!
