Whites repair?

I have an older Whites coinmaster 2d that recently stopped working. The battery indicator needle still moves up to indicate full charge but, no sound or needle movement when passed over a metal object. I paid 50. Bucks for it a year or two ago. Does White still repair these? Is it worth repairing. Anything I can look at myself to try and fix it? Thanks in advance guys.

It's my understanding that whites will repair about anything if the parts are available. I would give them a call first though.
