I had some time off work so i went relic hunting. It was really nice getting out for a couple days. These are my finds from the weekend.
Confederate & union bullets.Wow! That is so cool! You have a few differnet types of projectiles as well. I would love to get on some Civil War area. Well done!
I cant find any buttons that dont fall apart. My buddy dug a nice eagle button Saturday. Hopefully some brass will start showing up. ThanksGet that old lead out of the way and maybe the brass will start pouring out. Good luck on your hot spot.l
Thanks buddy. Its a good area. I just started hunting it. Hopefully some brass will start showing up.Another awesome CW haul! You are killing it on the bullets and musket balls. Good going.
The rond balls are for smooth bore muskets. The rough ones were chewed by animals. There are a few different minie balls pictured. Some Confederate some yankee.Congrats on another great hunt! What's the object in the first picture? Are the roughly-spherical ones musket balls? I thought perhaps they are what I've heard referred to as "Minié balls," but according to an article I just saw, it looks like those are actually the same as three ring bullets. ❓ (Please pardon my naïveté on the subject. It seems that if I want to learn, I may as well ask questions; and you seem like a good person to ask.)
