I found this .52 Sharps & Hankins 1st Model cartridge a couple of days ago. I was hunting near a known camp. But I wasn’t finding civil war things so when I found it I wasn’t sure what it was. After a little research I discovered what it was. From what I found this cartridge was used by the Union Calvary.

Thanks for the pictures and research. Keep that in the back of my mind since I have several Union and Confederate Calvary skirmish areas that I hunt.
