A friend and I were detecting on Monday, I found my first Phoenix Button in the woods. later, we went to a beach about 3 miles away and she found another one. Mine says Regiment 2 and hers is Regiment 14. I didn't know anything about these until I dug one up. Northern California coast. Nice to find 200 year old stuff in California. I know Tom posted a spreadsheet about these earlier. I was thrilled.

Oh man, now you got me riled up. I love those buttons. Here's the rarity chart I made for them :

Are you at liberty to say (via PM) where you got yours ? I've done a lot of relic hunting in northern CA, yet all my phoenix buttons have come from central and southern CA. Haven't been lucky with those particular buttons, anywhere north of San Jose so far.

Congratz !

If it were just me I would, but this was my first hunt with my friend and she is very private.
