The yellow/orange button might actually pre-date the War of 1812. I'm working on cleaning and preserving the other, a Light Artillery 2 button. Also bagged a VA half penny, 1840 half dime (tiny!), smashed thimble, a pair of musketballs, buckles, scale weights and even some mystery metal LOL

Does anyone else see a possible counterstamp on the 1/2 reverse over the word "dime"? I definitely see an "A" where the "I" would be...

Your in a great spot. Very cool finds. It looks like someone scratched out the word dime. I do see the A but can’t make any thing else out. Maybe they where trying to make it say half -ss and did it half -ssed.
