Together Forever Pendant

We went back to the heavily fished area yesterday and had a great hunt due to everyone's advice on avoiding/accounting for my machine's mis-reading of small lead split shots in the area. The pond water level is down quite a bit and we were able to hunt areas that were underwater previously. We found a 2000 dime, tons of lures and weights, a cell phone and one half of a "together forever" pendant. We googled it and this item seems to be from the late 60's/early 70's. We wonder who possessed the other half -were they sweethearts? Are they still? Did they split up and one threw their half into the pond? Ah, the drama of metal detecting

Pretty neat don't think I have seen one with the peace symbol.Must have been some old hippie lost it.

Thanks 007, We'll be hitting the area many times again. This will probably be our default hunting place. Many acres of varied terrain. It had an old saw mill located on it in the late 1800s.

Yes, I can picture it well, I grew up with many hippies or wanna-be's in the 60s and 70s. Have you found one yourself while hunting or do you just remember when the item was in fashion?

Grew up in that era bell bottom pants, long hair, and peace sign. Have never found one myself.

Thats pretty cool. I also found a silver dime ('64) and the exact same pendant this morning. Same half, peace symbol and all. Sorry i don't have a pic. I don't have the piece or my camera with me(at work). DS
