The third trip was the charm

Finished up my plumbing problems this morning. So out detecting I went. Went back to the home site I found a couple of weeks ago that’s in the woods. Had a good day. I went over the site slow. It worked well I found 12 buttons a broken thimble, a big spoon bowl, some pretty pottery and two Matron head one is a 1817 in great condition the other is toasted. The 1817 Matron was a first for me. It was on the surface. Very cool! One of the buttons still has cloth on it. I find that amazing to think the string would still be there after 200 years in the ground. It was a nice day in the woods!

Very nice finds MDM! Pretty tough to be picking up a 1817 Large Cent just sitting on the surface! Happy for you and your excellent finds!

What super finds! You've got a sweet spot there to dirtfish, that site has yielded some great treasures and that 1817 penny is something else. Good job.
