Found in the yard of the old farm house on our property. On maps by 1900
The front says “Shirley Briton” the back half says “Shirley Make”
Searching is tough, Google wants change Briton to Britton. And I get every Shirley Britton obit online.
I finally found a Shirley Make suspender called the President.. same logo on back of clip..
But I can’t find any reference to Briton.. the Shirley is a reference to Shirley, Massachusetts where they are made.
Some of the advertising is for womens suspenders as well
Any thoughts of tidbits out of the vast FMD knowledge base?

For as good as the technology of search engines has gotten throughout the years, they've also gotten worse. It's like pulling teeth to get a search engine to only show you what you want to see. Anyway, I found out a little information...

"1881 - C.A. Edgarton and Sons opened a factory on Leominster Road to produce webbing for suspenders and garters. Around 1900 – it became known as the President Suspender Company. About 1930 – George Frost Belt Company merged with the Suspender Company...."

I could find the "President" suspender buckles, but no mention anywhere about "Shirley Briton"

Here is a Shirley Suspender Buckle on this site...

As to the age of yours, I would guess it to be late 19th/Early 20th century, but no clue what kind of naming convention they were using.
Good luck finding out more about that company; searching for that was also a nightmare. Grat's on a cool find though!
