Was out and about at a park today. They have a decent size man made sledding hill. Ambled over on the way to car and found a quick .28 cents and then nothing. Only did a very small area at bottom of one of the slopes.
As kids are bundled up in snow pants etc. thinking on the one hand small chance of finding clad, on the other hand, mom takes her gloves off and a ring goes with it. Any one ever have any luck with a sledding hill? I seem to have this park to myself, 9 or 10 soccer fields, 3 soft ball diamonds, tot lot and elem. school so plenty of alternitives. Pulled 3.47 from tot lot today and shot it once before back in early July.
Downside is all new within last 5 years so no silver. Plus side no pull tabs or crowns!!!!
Thanks
Don

I've had great luck on sledding hills. I think a fair amount of parents go sledding with the kids, and as they get in and out of sleds they drop stuff. Even if they notice I don't think too many people will dig through the snow for a dropped quarter. I've had equal luck at the tops and bottoms of hills, and have made finds on the hills themselves as well. Your idea about the rings makes good sense too! I found a silver ring at the bottom of a sledding hill once, maybe that's how it got there.

Good luck!

I detected a sledding hill behind a school. I found a lot of clad, and two rings about 4' from each other. One was a kids gold plated signet ring in bad shape, the other is a stainless steel band.
Most of the finds were at the bottom of the hill.
