I took my old and allegedly obsolete Excal Sword out of the closet, grabbed the scoop and went for a sunrise hunt this morning because I was told a certain beach was missing sand from the slope. Earl has actually hunted this spot Anyhow, the 2nd target was a Merc, so yeah, this might be a decent day I thought...but it was better than that The dime trifecta and a key date Merc were among the dozen silver coins that I found Here's everything from nearly 3 hours of deep digging......47 cents in clad, a late 30's bus token, beach locker tag, junk ring, 5 wheats, a Buffalo, 2 War nickels, GW, a Barber, 7 Mercs and a Rosie. One of the Mercs is a key date 1921 D...hardly worn but it has the beach patina on it With the amount of nickels and those good sounding pulltab rings I was hoping for some gold, but it didn't happen this time...still, it was a excellent outing for the Captain! Thanks for the looks and HH to all!
