I have found something very similar before, same size and shape but slightly different design. Best I could ever figure out for it was possibly a hat pin.

I believe those are handles to sewing tools. Or possibly a toothpick? I've found a few hollow silver handle pieces in the past that had a similar look. The size is throwing me off though, looks tiny! Cool find!

Very cool indeed. And congrats. With the fact there looks to be a steel or iron tip on it, could it possibly be an ornate handle for something like a jewelry box.:?::?:

Is it jointed? Perhaps it's an intricate drawer pull. Like @hoser said, it could belong to a jewelry box or something of the sort.

Congratulate your granddaughter for me on her sterling find! 😄
