While beach combing, my wife found this board. It's 9 feet long, 10 inches wide, and 3 inches thick. It is a hard wood. Any ideas on what this is?

It's a plank from the top of an old dock. I've found the same type boards still together in marshes here in CT. Make it into a shelf like stated previously.
