Scubadetective a longtime forum member has passed away. :(

Same here, very sorry to hear, Scuba seemed like a great guy, he will be missed.

So very sad, it is sometimes hard to find words to say at a time like this, but he will be missed, by his family, by those in his local area he helped, and on this forum !

I have never did any water or beach hunting myself (just dirt hunting), but it will be hard to read a post about water hunting without thinking of him.

Beautiful day on the lake to take dads boat for a spin!! Wish you were here daddy!! Today was hard. Today we start to celebrate him! There is a short video on Facebook.

I haven't been on this forum long, but I've been on long enough to know that when I saw a post from Scuba, I knew it was a "must read". RIP Scuba and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

So sorry to hear. I enjoyed his posts and humor and his generosity was unsurpassed. Rest in peace Scuba and may the Lord welcome you with open arms. A sad day indeed, the world lost a good one. Mark

RIP Robert, you were an inspiration to us all in your generosity and willingness to always lend a helping hand where needed whenever the call came in.
My condolences to his family, dealing with a loss like this can be so difficult but it does get easier with time...

Good ol' Scubes...what a guy! Always interesting or thought provoking posts, Super generous giver, great underwater recovery specialist, and those are just some public knowledge things I have been impressed with.
"Bring On Summer" had a lot of us hoping to win...for about a year and a half! That was some fun times eh?
Of all his fantastic diving stories, my favorite was his dumpster diving treasure haul.

+1 yep, that was the name of the contest, I posted earlier how that contest was just one example his great generosity, I was blessed to win and he was a man of his word, he sent the prizes which included a new Equinox 800, about $1000 worth of prizes altogether and even paid for the shipping ! (winning the Nox 800 meant a lot to me because being retired on Social Security it enabled me to be able to enjoy a detector that was way out of my hobby budget range)

Will miss him and his adventures! I am reminded of his great contests every time I look down at the awesome Cleansweep coil which hasn’t come off the Mojave since I won it courtesy of Robert! May his inner circle and friends find comfort from God and grace to face the coming days.
