My wife and I are avid cat people. I know there are lots of folks who think cats are evil and that's ok. We know what they are and love them. Sammy was our oldest of fifteen years. I defy you to find a more gentil little guy. He was my sleep buddy and always laid between my knees when I went to bed. Followed me almost everywhere in the house, and basically was a very good companion. Sadly, Monday he was so much in pain I knew it was time to send him home to God. I'm a tough old ornery person and most HUMANS shy away from me. He saw right through that false facade and took me as his bud. Just wanted to let ya'll know how very special he was to me. I prayed to the lord to take him in his sleep, but I guess it was gonna be another test for me and I had to give the ok for the final shot. This is Sammy, and I want all those who like these special little guys to see how special he was to me. Sammy.jpg

Oh, I am so sorry. We to are cat people and enjoy them immensely. The sad days are few, the happy days many and memories aplenty. I'm going to send out positive energy for the both of you.

Sorry to hear you lost your buddy. I too am a cat guy. I have several. They hear my truck park in the driveway and are waiting for me when I walk in. None will ever replace Sammy but you can love another one. I know, I've lost a few. He's beautiful. I love his eyes. I can hear him purring.

Thank you my friend. His eyes were intense, but very loving. The pic you see is when he is in my lap and that is what he did. Sit there and stare at me. We have two other friends here. Seal point Siamese named Jappers., and a tortoise-colored little girl found in a garbage can named Maisie.

I hate to hear this, I've always loves cats. I used to have both dogs & cats but now, no dogs, but now have several cats. It is really really hard when one gets too old or sick but it's the best - you did the right thing

Oh, damn! So sorry to hear this brother!! We too are "cat lovers". When beloved dog Bubba died many years ago we were petless for a long time then our daughter who fosters abandoned kittens had and we took one of them. We have had Gidget for about five year now and can't imagine losing her!

So sorry for your loss. We've had to have three cats put to sleep, and it doesn't get any easier.
Our present cat Phil is getting on in years, and it's going to be awful when he goes. We've never gone looking for cats,
they have adopted us. As much as we love our feline friends, when Phil goes, I've said no more.

I just noticed Hoser, you joined the forum the same time as me.

Sorry Bill, to hear the bad news, we lost our dog about a year ago, and haven't got another pet since then. I always knew you had cats, and my son, in town, has a few also, and he just loves them, if I wasn't having such an allergy problem being around them, I probably would also ! :(

Thanks for the kind words. We're doing good as we know it was best. :waytogo:
Just heard a couple night ago, a bunch of cats were in my driveway fighting , I'm guessing around 4-6 of them, dang they were loud, Wife said something about them mating ? heck I don't know ?

Hi Bill, very sorry to hear about your cat and the tough agonizing decision you had to make to put it to sleep. Parting with a beloved pet is NEVER easy and takes a long time, if ever, to get over the loss. This is our cat Moby and we just this past week took him to the vet because he just wasn't himself. He's 14 years old and a part of the family. We know that someday he'll be gone and it won't be easy to deal with. Fortunately, for now at least, he's making a recovery and we expect him to be with us for quite a while.
