I'm not really sure how to pose this question, but here goes: Do any of you put your coin finds into some kind of rank or order of significance? For instance, zinc lincolns are at the bottom of my list followed by copper memorial cents, then jefferson nickels (excluding war nickels), then clad dimes, clad quarters, wheats, war nickels, silver rosies, buffalo nickels, mercury dimes....so on and so forth.

Maybe I just think weird, but does anyone else have such a list in their heads?

I've been detecting for 2 years now (Prizm III was a Father's Day gift in 2005) and in that time span I've managed to find approximately 2,000 coins. My "good" finds, however, have been sparse: 43 wheats, 3 buffalos, 1 merc, 1 Susan B, 1 Sac, -- everything else has been just your run-of-the-mill clad, common jeffersons, copper memmies, and zlincolns.

I would really like to build the ranked list in my mind with "real" finds rather than dream coins. Guess that's why I keep digging!

Anyway, just wondering how the rest of you think?

I have a coin collection, so I guess what matters to me is if I can use it in my collection or not. But any silver coin or wheat penny or older is good to me.

My list is backwards of yours. We started out finding lincolns, clad etc. Then wheats, indian heads, Mercs, buffalos, barbers, walkers, etc. It seemed the more experience we got detecting, the older the coins keep getting.

So our list goes from Most Recent dates to Oldest.
