My third trip to the cellar hole site produced a great hit on my second hole. I knew it was something good as soon as I rubbed the surface dirt off of it to reveal the “Federal” period eagle. A day on the ‘Help to ID My Finds’ section of this forum revealed it to most likely be one of a pair of pre-CW officer’s cloak or cape clasps, non-government issue.
Pre-CW Officers Cloak/Cape Clasp
Silver spoon (WR Co A1)
Pewter spoon half
Long Harmonica reed
Pointy lead object with copper wire repair
Pocket knife
Gun
45 cal. Automatic shell casing
(2) 22 cal. shell casings
30 06 shell casing
(2) Shot shells (REM-UMC No.12 SHURSHOT)
Fountain Pen Cap
GOODEE Racing Car
Bell with rusted clapper
Toy Cowboy (metal)
1967 Clad Dime
Lead Bar (1/2 & ½ C.S.M.)
DeSoto (?) Hubcap
The gun had a pretty hefty feel to it at first and I thought that it might be real. After cleaning in up and knocking some of the rust off of it and out of the inside of it it lightened up. Anyway, the trigger was much to cheaply made for it to be real.
