Possible brooch, age?

I what appears to be a brooch at a site that was a stage stop and had a house built in 1857. Does it look like a brooch to you? How old do you think it is?

I’d say it’s a brooch for sure, can see the hinge that held the pin on one side and the latch on the other. Nice find!

Cherub design? Great find!

Yes it's a cherub brooch. Art Nouveau style. Could be late 1800s to early 1900s. Looks too old but still in good shape to be a modern piece, but not certain.
It also looks like a silver color. I would be cleaning the back thoroughly and searching for any markings.
