I am on my third Garrett Z-lynk WT-1 transmitter box. The slightest bit of sand or dirt in the micro USB port and the port of the transmitter is toast. This is starting to cost me a small fortune. Nobody else seems to manufacture a system for my Nox 800 that will provide me with both pinpointer and detector audio delivered thru my headphones.

What I would like to do to solve this problem is to find a micro USB extension cable with a male end (to plug into the transmitter) and a female end (to plug onto the male end of the 1/4" headphone jack cable). I could then plug the male end of the extension into the transmitter and tape and seal that sucker into place. No in and out for charging, etc.. Then I would use the female end of the extension for charging and plugging in and out of the 1/4" headphone jack cable. That way NO dirt can get inside the micro USB port of the transmitter box.

I have ordered 2 different male to female micro USB extension cables from Amazon (one a charging cable and the other a charging/data cable) and neither of them worked as far as sending the transmitter audio signal from my Nox 800 to my headphones.

So here's my question:

Where can I find an extension transmitter micro USB cable (male end to female end) that will work with the WT-1 transmitter?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post. I really, reallllyyyyy appreciate it!

Sorry, your having such problems, I have the same setup for my AT Pro, and had problems with it keeping a charge, but that was it. I got a new box and headphones, and it seems o.k., Thank you Big Boys Hobby, for the help with that. !! I wish I had the answer for you. I would contact them, and see what they say.

Thanks for your reply. Glad yours is doing well. Just don't ever get dirt in the usb port, it'll kill your transmitter.

I'm happy to say that I *finally* found an extension cable (thnx to my awesome dh) that is successful in transmitting the audio signal. I'm posting this fix for anyone who has/had/will have the same problem as me and happens to run across this thread in the future.

Here is a pic of my new config. As you can see, I have taped the hell out of the usb port and micro usb extension so that NO dirt can enter. The other end is used for charging and connecting to my headphones.

The extension cable can be found on Amazon. It's called -- YCS basics One Foot USB Micro Male to Micro Female 5 pin / 5 Wire Extension Cable.
