I always have trouble deciding exactly where to plant stuff in the yard, but now that I have a detector, I let it help me decide. I dug 6 or 7 holes, and let my wife decide which 4 were the best for the trees we were planting. I dug any strong signal, and ended up with a scrap of foil, two modern lead projectiles, a large iron nut, a rivet, and a pop tab. I got the trees planted though, and I really didn't feel like planting them.
