Perished cable

Hi I have a Sovereign Elite. I understand they are not made anymore. The main cable to the coil has shed its outer plastic covering, the inner wires are OK.
How do I cover the wires.

Find some PET Expandable wire loom/covering. Buy the sleeve size that will fit over your connector.

If it is a non removable wire, then you will need the split version of the PET wire sleeve.

Heat shrink tubing. I get it in 3-foot lengths. DR

I had the same problem with 2 old minelab Xterra coils. I first wrapped mine with electric tape. Then I went to harbor freight and got a package of that wire loom protection stuff and put it on there. Then I put electric tape on the ends near the coil and housing plug.
Now I would not say it is waterproof anymore still but it certainly is protected from getting banged or small shrubs stuff.

I used liquid electrical tape on my wires.

Beware if the heatshrink fits over the connectors it may not shrink fsr enough to seal up the small diameter wire.
