I haven't posted in a while but near this site has produced lots of late 1700s items and early 1800s as well. There are few junk items but it was farm field up until the 1950s. I am trying to figure out the coin. I have pulled a few large cents, a KGIII, what looks like a state copper and the one in this photo. It is thin. It looks like the bust is facing left and a little like a KGII. It will loose all its coating once it dries so I got the pic after soaking some. Thoughts?
Also, what is the big iron? I thought it may be a hitch of some sort but it is really heavy iron and a large ball. I put it next to a paint stick for size. I don't see a whole in the bottom of the pin but I have not taken the rust off yet.
