These are from my last couple hunts. Both are Gettysburg campaign & are from camps before the battle. The NY staff button is in good shape. I didn't even hit it lol.

Thanks buddy. I have found a few of them intact but most of the three piece buttons I have dug fell apart on me. I'm on the fence about putting it in ammonia to see if the gold will pop out.

I haven't done anything to it yet. New York buttons are the most common state buttons found. What's rare is it staying whole. I've had them fall to pieces in my hand. Three piece buttons are tough to find intact.
