New forum, what happened?

Wow, I really am excited about this! I'm glad that the posts/private messages were carried over; and I'm delighted with all of these new features. 😄 My thanks to @Vlad, @Carol K, and any others who've been involved.

So far I do have one observation worth mentioning: when I clicked on the link to pull up my previous posts, only 14 of them were retrieved; I also tried searching posts by "Princess" and had the same results.

Thanks for all your hard work Vlad!!
I did like it much better when one could always edit a post instead of the edit button expiring in two hours. Thanks
I think you are talking about marking your thread with a prefix "SOLD", which is not the same as editing your post.
Please bear with me guys, I know its hard to change from something you are so used to, but will get this new stuff figured out.

I will look into it tomorrow, it's getting late...:putertired:

Thank you for all the work and effort put in to get the forum back up and running Vlad.

...from across the pond.

I am not real sure about the change. I am not a computer geek ...so after I log in and look at something then hit the back arrow it shows that I am not logged in, so I can't get to anything further than if I hadn't logged in.

Did you check the box that says leave me signed in? Its usually checked for you... log out and log back in and make sure that box is checked. this new site its so much faster and easier to moderate, I love it.

Thanks @Vlad , @Carol K , admin/mods, and everyone else who put in the hard work to bring the new and improved FMDF back on-line! I like the new look, and especially appreciate some of the new, up-to-date details like tagging other members in posts, etc.

Minor wish list: Is there a way to increase the character limit in the Profile Post section like you did for the signature line? In my case, I keep a running listing of my find totals each year in my Profile Posts, and when I tried to edit my existing post, I got a warning "Please enter a message with no more than 420 characters". I threw the post into MS Word, and got a character count of just under 1000...I guess I gotta stop finding so much stuff :D

Am hoping rule #5 will apply to youtube videos, at least those who only post a youtube link and say "You won't believe what I found !!" without any backstory or pics to go along with it, I get sick of people scrounging for clicks - Or a dedicated subforum only for youtube videos would work too - In fact would be ideal as those who like that stuff could easily find it, and those who don't can easily avoid it.

Could not agree more!

Would it be possible to extend the timeframe to edit posts? I believe it expires after 2 hours currently, but that won't allow users time to edit posts in the classifieds after selling an item, or marking contests as ended, etc.

Go to your profile and click on the 'About' tab. The new software breaks up friends into 2 groups, people you follow and people that follow you.
