You may have the key to making sure your treasure remains once you're gone. I've always felt that as soon as I pass most of my lifelong rewards will just be tossed. Having them in a nice display,and some documentation, may help preserve the future of your recoveries.

That is very cool. I’ve always had an appreciation for woodworking but it definitely passed me by. That’s really cool that those tools ended up with someone that really appreciates them

At the time my boys were 7 and 14 and for two years about 1-2 x per month we spent a weekend day digging for gold in the two small branches. the last year, I built a sluice box out of marine plywood and we had a 2" or 3" gasoline trash pump to power it and that really speed up our process. finding a gold permission on 40 acres in the gold district even back then was rare to say the least. So giving her son my dad's old but very good wood working tools made me feel good. The boys learned so much about being out in the real woods and of course they both look back at that time as great times for us all. We took my wife with us once and that was enough for a city girl.
