This was a day a few weeks where the stars just aligned for me. I hadn't posted sooner because I had a lot going on. But I was hunting in a park that seems almost untouched by other detectorists and from the beginning of the hunt, I was on fire with coins. Ended up with more than $20 in modern coins by the end. I also hit several 5 pretty good pieces of silver jewelry, for a total of about 18 grams, I think. But the best find of the excursion by far was ... a 22k ring weighing in at 10.3 grams. Just under one-third of an ounce of pure gold. My second heaviest gold ring ever and it fits me as well. It is a Chinese design with a dragon on the face of it and it is so shiny that it will blind you in the right light.

One heck of an outing!

Crazy day for you! Get that sucker in the safe. One could say you got lucky, but there is no such thing as luck. You were in the right place and the right time. Well done and nice fit.

One awesome chunk of yellow! Somehow the word Congrats just don't seem to be enough for this find. Super well done.

That was one heck of a good hunt. The 22k chinese ring is steller. I have found some nice 22k jewelry and there were found in areas where foreigners lived. They seem to favor the 22k gold. My wife thinks they can get it cheaper overseas than in the states. I do know from personal experience of being in Pusan, South Korea in the 60's with the Army that there were many small jewelry shops and they only had 22k gold jewelry on display for sale.
