Got back out for a little dirt therapy today after being under the weather for a few days. Went back to the spot I have already found 10 silver coins and there were still some more waiting on me. Found a 1907 Barber quarter, no date SLQ, 1916 Merc. (maybe a D but cant decipher), (4) buffalos, (2) V nickels, a mystery coin I am still working to identify. (maybe a shield nickel). Several wheaties, pocket watch, several compacts cover, square nails, lock, harmonica reeds and some sort of strainer. Beautiful weather and great day hunting. I added a picture of all the trash I have dug the last few hunts. For all of you new people to the hobby or interested in getting into this hobby, the trash picture is more of what metal detecting is about. Promise you, there are more days with trash then treasure. I do have to say though, this has been one of the best weeks I have had since I started detecting. I ran the CTX3030 in Coins, Combined tones, +3 sensitivity, Ground coin, deep on.

Looking very nice Jerry! Geez, for a guy who sells detectors you sure have a lot of time to metal detecting! Who woulda thought huh?šŸ˜ƒ I see the CTX continues the pattern, good on you for putting it on the right place again! Are you still using the 11ā€ coil?
Got a good pic of the reverse on that Merc? And the mystery coin? Maybe another set of eyes can take a crack at themā€¦

Thank You, as far as time, ?? Its hard to not go hunt when you find a spot like I have. Civil war AND silver, are you kidding me. lol. I am using the 11" coil but have plans to slap on the 17" this week, see whats hiding deeper. I have checked the Merc, it does have a mint mark but looks like a "block", not a D or S. I have a microscope hooked to my computer and I am looking at this coin and the other coin but as of yet no determination. Good to hear from you.

Great spot you have there Jerry. Congrats on the shiny and other cool finds. Hit it again. Good luck. Mark

Having a site like this sure adds to the excitement in this hobby Jerry. Congrats on adding 3 more to the Silver Count, hope the "16" can be confirmed as a "D". The Nickel harvest also seems to be pretty fantastic.Again looking forward to the next adventure. We just added 8 inches of new snow so it will be a while before I get to have my maiden voyage this year. Trapper
