For one whole month I was going to do the ultimate test much better than the arrogant know it all guys on Youtube. I called one of them "The Flying Monte Nail Board Test". First place a mercury dime under a 2x12 with one hundred nails sticking up. Then proceed to try to unmask the merc while hopscotching over the nails blasting the Laverne and Shirley theme song. This test not only shows the unmasking abilities of each detector but also the headphone capabilities to be able to hear the merc through the music. The test would enable me to rate how well each detector is balanced. Which I find critical if I were to fall on a board of nails.
Test #2. I mixed 40% magnetic sand from western Australia with 40% red sand from Culpeper VA. Then added 20% black sand from Mordor. I then would pour on a mix of salt from the Dead Sea. Finally a 22k gold ring at 8 inches. This test not only shows target accuracy but also reactivity. As it is to be performed in the back parking lot of a friends Geotech company which is shared with the local gay bar. This test was to be performed in a speedo at closing time to ensure a haste speed. I was just about to order all three detectors to see which one is a hair better. Then I decided I don’t really care and I took my $425 Apex out for the month and this is what I found.

Solid determination!!! Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

So let's just cut to the chase : Which of those 3 machines do you think would work best (say, .... for men's gold rings) on that beach where I last saw you ? The Legend, the Nox 800, or the Deus II ?

Interesting post. I recently took my AT Pro, a Vanquish 440, and a Nox 800, up with me in the back seat of an EA-18 Growler out of NAS Whidbey Island. We did a bit of Air Combat Maneuvering (ACM) and I found that the AT Pro blacked out at 5Gs, the Vanquish could handle 6Gs, and the Nox finally went dark at 7Gs. So, for any high G detecting, you want the Nox!
