Legend 1.14 Beast Mode Downgrad Problem.

Like many here, I followed the directions and upgraded to 1.14. I did a factory reset. Set it up and gave it a test run. I am a novice with about 75+ hrs on this unit running 1.11.

I found little difference in performance between the .14 & .11. I did a factory reset and downloaded back to 1.11 followed by another factory reset.

I then set my unit back up the way I had it and went to play on a new property. I had not so good results and went home flustered. I couldn't pick up a surface test dime. I knew the field was an old mechanics property with PLENTY of iron and with a radio tower in the back yard, yes a very difficult set up.

Anyway, today I was testing the unit at home, the IF & ST settings, and it had me scratching my head. Something wansn't right. I buried a dime at 4 inches and couldn't hit it at all, even after another factory reset. I realized something was wrong.

Factory reset again, downgraded to 1.09 factory reset and then back to 1.14. completely different results this time. From factory reset on 1.14, I was now easily hitting a dime at 6". I tried several settings and even DT. I had much better results this time around compared to my first time with 1.14. I was able to hit nickels, dimes and quarters with no problems now at 6+ inches. It was dark so I wasn't able to do much more.

Anywho, be careful with the upgrade. Test known parameters first before update, after update and before you start fiddling around with the new programe, it had me running in circles.

If you downgrade to 1.11, you may have the same issues I did but don't panic. Do another factory reset, downgrade to 1.09, factory reset and then updated again to 1.14. I just bypassed 1.11.

Your results may vary. Just letting y'all know what happened to me.

Interesting. I upgraded to the 1.14, thinking it was for prospecting and was going to use it this week on my trip. then after further reading and realizing it was not for prospecting, just thought I would wait until I went back to some parks.
I do not use the Legend very much, I think I bought it about 2 years ago, used it 3 or 4 times, had back surgery, and it stayed in the closet. when I bought the Manticore last year, it has been all I was using.

To be honest I find the legend menu hard to navigate.

Same here. Menu sucks. Icons on screen are too small. I'm not seeing any advantage to updating to beast mode. And the legend is not as deep as my manticore or equinox 700 or deus 2.

Tried it. 1.09 and then back. Noticeable difference. Kind of sketchy before.

Quick follow up.
After doing the downgrade to 1.09, factory reset, upgrade to 1.14 and another reset, it is notable more stable than when I first installed .14 coming from .11. Not sure what that's all about but it's better now.

I set my custom program up. I'm running park mode with M2. I have my breaks, tones set the way I want. I have audio gain on the target rang I'm looking for boosted. Dt I'm running at 1, IF-1, ST-3, BC -0 GS-0. Picking up targets i missed before in a property I work hard. From what I'm seeing, to me It does show some improvements from 1.11.
