Sorry that I'm posting this a tad late but I wanted to share a few finds I dug from a CSA Camp in Southeastern, Virginia.
Same as last time, it's a CS camp that I've been hunting over the last several years. One of those camps that were allegedly dug completely out. All I need is plenty of time, patients, water and a candy bar or two. Kind of crazy but it seems like I recognize every tree in the camp but still seem to pull out a few finds. Stuff the other crowd left behind and swore to me that there was nothing left.....love it!
Included in my finds are two .69 caliber round balls for the smoothbore musket, a small cannon ball fragment, an iron cannon ball side plug, an iron harness buckle and a brass musket butt plate. I actually dug an exact copy of this one in the same camp several years ago.
I'm just as happy as I can be whenever I find something period. I'm sure that's what drives all of us.
Happy hunting folks and good luck.
